Consensus Miami by the numbers

Every figure links to where it came from. Attendance for an event that has not happened is a projection, and each row says so rather than presenting it as a count.

What is Consensus Miami?

Consensus is CoinDesk's flagship conference and the longest-running large event in crypto. The North American edition is now in Miami, with 2027 dates of 4 to 6 May at the Miami Beach Convention Center. It is a mixed room by design: protocol teams, institutional finance, policy people and press in the same halls, which is what separates it from the developer-only and trader-only shows. CoinDesk also runs Consensus editions in Hong Kong.

Who goes to Consensus Miami?

Exchanges, protocols, funds, institutional finance and the policy and legal people who work on digital assets, plus a heavy press presence given CoinDesk's own role. The official line is 15,000 attendees from more than 100 countries. It is more institutional and less developer-focused than Devcon or ETHDenver.

Consensus Miami side events

Consensus week is one of the denser side-event calendars in crypto. Miami Beach and Brickell fill with protocol parties, fund dinners and invite-only breakfasts, most of them free and none of them run by CoinDesk. The official schedule covers the convention centre only. Search Consensus side event and expect to find more than you can attend. Aspire does not run any of those nights.

Consensus Miami tickets and costs

Passes go through the official site. No public price was available when this page was last checked, so none is quoted here; Consensus has historically sold in rising tiers, so booking late is the expensive option. Early May in Miami is hot and humid, with the rainy season starting. The convention centre is in South Beach, which is a different world from the Brickell financial district where many of the fund events sit.

Getting to Miami Beach Convention Center

Miami International airport is about 30 minutes to South Beach outside peak, and Fort Lauderdale is a viable alternative. The Miami Beach Convention Center is walkable from most of South Beach. Getting between South Beach and Brickell crosses a causeway and takes far longer than the map suggests during the evening event window.

Where to stay for Consensus Miami

South Beach puts you walking distance from the convention centre and most of the evening programme. Brickell is where a lot of the institutional and fund events sit but adds a causeway crossing each way. Miami hotel rates in early May are below the winter peak but the conference itself moves them; book early.

What to know before booking Consensus Miami

The event moved to Miami relatively recently after years in Austin and elsewhere, so older guides describing the venue and city are simply wrong. Note also that Consensus runs a separate Hong Kong edition, and a good number of listings conflate the two. If you are picking one conference in the US crypto calendar, this and Bitcoin Nashville serve quite different audiences.

Consensus Miami: common questions

When is Consensus Miami 2027?

4 to 6 May 2027 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Florida. It is a three-day event. CoinDesk also runs a separate Consensus edition in Hong Kong, so check which one a listing refers to before booking travel.

Consensus

How many people attend Consensus?

The official site states 15,000 attendees from more than 100 countries for the Miami edition. That is the organiser's own figure rather than an audited count, and it makes Consensus one of the largest crypto conferences in North America.

Consensus

How much is a Consensus pass?

No public pass tariff was on the official site when this page was last checked, so no figure is quoted here rather than guessing. Consensus has historically sold passes in rising tiers, which means the price goes up the longer you wait.

Consensus FAQ

Who organises Consensus?

CoinDesk, the digital assets news organisation, organises and presents Consensus. Aspire has no role in running it. The official site is consensus.coindesk.com, and CoinDesk lists its full event slate at events.coindesk.com.

Consensus

Is Consensus the same as Bitcoin Nashville?

No. Consensus is CoinDesk's broad digital-assets conference covering protocols, institutions and policy. Bitcoin Nashville is Bitcoin-specific with a different culture and audience. People working across the whole asset class tend to pick Consensus.

Where should I stay for Consensus Miami?

South Beach keeps you walking distance from the Miami Beach Convention Center and most of the evening programme. Brickell hosts many fund and institutional events but adds a causeway crossing each way, which is slow during the evening peak.
